MrsP.com is holding her second annual “Be a Famous Writer” contest for children beginning September 1st. The contest will open for submissions on September 1st and will continue to accept submissions through October 15th 2010.
The contest is open to all children ages 4 to 13 — and stories will be judged in two age groups:
- four to eight
- nine to thirteen
Stories may cover any topic, fiction or nonfiction, and should be between 250 and 1,000 words. Read the rest…

A national literary treasure is missing. Someone has stolen the original copy of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, so goes the plot in Nathan Miller’s comical children’s mystery, The Official Librarian: Bessy’s Back!, where a whimsical librarian named Bessy Beebody is forced to become a detective. The writing tournament will have between 8 and 10 rounds. In each round except the first one, we expects to eliminate half of the participants. Anything submitted to the writing tournament will remain on the iwriteit.com website for one year, although under our normal revenue sharing model, the winner of the grand prize’s writings will remain on the site inperpetuity. All other works uploaded will remain the property of the author alone. The deadline for entry is July 1, 2010. A writer may enter by uploading any writing to the website.
