In its’ 66th year, AAA’s Traffic Safety Poster Program has communicated safety messages in schools, encouraged peer-to-peer communication through creativity and established trust in AAA for future members and their parents. By demonstrating an understanding of an age-appropriate topic, students create visual representations depicting the importance of child passenger safety, pedestrian safety, distracted driving and the dangers of alcohol and driving. Teaching these important safety messages can help combat the number-one killer in children ages 2-14 and the increased dangers in novice driving that teens face today.

For the fourth year, Keep America Beautiful presents the opportunity to apply for a grant to help reduce graffiti vandalism in cities across America. Through the Graffiti Hurts® National Grant Program three grants of $2,500 will be awarded to help kick-start or add to a local graffiti prevention effort. Nonprofits, neighborhood and community organizations, youth groups, government agencies, and others are all eligible to apply. New this year is an online application process to improve efficiency, ensure receipt of your entire application, and provide immediate verification of your submission. Deadline is June 1, 2010.
Each year over 1,000 students submit entries to the National Peace Essay Contest while thousands more participate in related writing and other classroom exercises in high schools around the country.
