The Ron Clark Academy’s Great American Teacher Awards honor teachers who best demonstrate exemplary teaching that is challenging, innovative and creative. Teachers can be nominated by their schools, colleagues, students, or anyone else who recognizes their outstanding work in the classroom (including themselves). Nominees must be currently employed by a public or private school, at any grade level or subject preK-12, and planning to continue in an active teaching status. A minimum of three years teaching experience is required.

The writing tournament will have between 8 and 10 rounds. In each round except the first one, we expects to eliminate half of the participants. Anything submitted to the writing tournament will remain on the iwriteit.com website for one year, although under our normal revenue sharing model, the winner of the grand prize’s writings will remain on the site inperpetuity. All other works uploaded will remain the property of the author alone. The deadline for entry is July 1, 2010. A writer may enter by uploading any writing to the website. National Children’s Book of the Year Contest
Alexandria, VA - April 9, 2010 - The National Association of Elementary School Principals Foundation (NAESPF) has launched a contest for aspiring children’s book authors. The winning authors will have their books endorsed by the NAESP Foundation and published by Charlesbridge Publishing.
Prospective authors may choose to publish a picture book or a chapter book written for children from 3-16 years of age. Five finalists will be announced in each category and two winners will be announced at the 2011 Annual Convention and receive a contract to publish his/her books.
Judging will be based on content, originality, and age-appropriateness of the manuscript.
