Whether it’s bacteria and germs or UV rays and the wind, some dangers are invisible, making the innovations made by scientists in the areas of safety and security even more impressive and important.
For the 2010 Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge, each of the video topics focuses on the science of safety and security. Choose one and create a video that showcases what you know about these important areas of our everyday lives.

Here’s a fun and rewarding way to exercise your creativity as a teacher – and be recognized for it! The ASM Materials Education Foundation’s mission is to “excite young people in materials, science, and engineering careers”. Members of ASM International visit schools and frequently observe that students are fascinated by materials, but rarely have an opportunity to learn anything about them. Amphibian populations worldwide are in the midst of a mass extinction crisis, yet most people are completely unaware. Further, few students receive any amphibian extinction education in their schools. The SAVE THE FROGS!
