Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge Early Bird Announcement

This challenge gives students the opportunity, tools and inspiration to become agents of change. High school student teams from across the country are challenged to create sustainable, energy-related environmental improvements that can be replicated by or impact others beyond their local community. Top prizes include thousands of dollars in scholarship money and more! The challenge opens August 17, 2010 and runs through March 15, 2011.

Frog Art Contest

Great American Teacher Awards -2010

The Ron Clark Academy’s Great American Teacher Awards honor teachers who best demonstrate exemplary teaching that is challenging, innovative and creative. Teachers can be nominated by their schools, colleagues, students, or anyone else who recognizes their outstanding work in the classroom (including themselves). Nominees must be currently employed by a public or private school, at any grade level or subject preK-12, and planning to continue in an active teaching status. A minimum of three years teaching experience is required.

Young Composers Challenge - 2010

Bob the Bunny’s Environmental Cartoon Competition - Volvo

Volvo’s Bob the Bunny competition is aimed at younger adventurers between the ages of 10 and 12. To enter, form a team of one to three members and then identify a local environmental issue. Next, create a cartoon illustrating the issue and actions you might take to solve it. The winning team will be sent to the Volvo Adventure final.

The deadline is February 28, 2011.

Teen Writing Contest: 2nd Annual Keep the Drive High School Journalism Awards

The Allstate Foundation (TAF) is calling for teens to either write an article and have it published in their school newspaper or write and produce a broadcast news segment for their high school news station to help raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving.  Students can win up to $3,000 in cash.
